23RD DECEMBER

Your Cornish Christmas break begins! We’ll have the mulled wine and mince pies on standby eagerly awaiting your arrival in the Water’s Edge bar. Dinner will be served each night in our award winning Water’s Edge restaurant courtesy of our Executive Chef Nick Hodges, Head Chef Bobby Southworth and the rest of the talented Greenbank kitchen team.

Our traditional dishes with imaginative twists will have you wishing it could be Christmas every day! Sample a slice of Cornwall with every mouthful, as our team use seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible to create an unforgettable culinary experience. Think hearty winter warmers and show stopping numbers that pack a punch of flavour and creative flair, cooked to perfection and presented to impress.

On the evening of 23rd December, you can enjoy a live performance from our traditional brass band St Keverne, while savouring complimentary canapés in the Water’s Edge bar. Let the festive celebrations begin!

CHRISTMAS EVE

There aren’t many places more magical to celebrate Christmas Eve than on the Cornish coast. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast overlooking views of the River Fal, surrounded by bobbing boats and panoramic scenes. Then take a leisurely stroll down to Falmouth’s charming high street for some last-minute shopping and a cosy hot chocolate (or something a little stronger). You won’t want to miss the annual performance of the local choir as the town fills with the sweet sounds of carol singing, laughter, and festive cheer.

In the afternoon, head back to The Working Boat for an enjoyable afternoon of sing-songs with Eight in a Bar, where we will be raising money for Crisis. Enjoy this festive event alongside tasty tipples, and freshly baked pasties.

For more festive indulgence, head upstairs to the Water’s Edge where you can savour a delightful festive afternoon tea, complete with elegant finger sandwiches and miniature sweet treats (£27pp surcharge applies). The bar team will also be crafting some special Christmas cocktails before dinner is served to get you in the festive spirit.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Recreate the nostalgia of opening your eyes on Christmas morning to the feeling of glee and magic as you discover a stocking full of surprises hung from your bedroom door. Whether you’re up with the larks to see if Santa has visited, or making the most of the holiday season with a mellow morning lie-in, start the day at the Water’s Edge for breakfast paired with a buck’s fizz.

For a full coastal experience, brave the crisp morning air with the traditional Christmas Day swim at Gyllyngvase Beach, where locals and visitors alike dash into the waves wearing festive hats and swimwear – it’s a refreshingly brisk way to start the day!

This Christmas, leave the cooking to us as our team of chefs joyfully roast the turkey, peel the potatoes, and bake the mince pies. All you need to focus on is pulling the Christmas crackers with your loved ones – we’ll even handle the clean up! As the evening draws near, snuggle up in the bar with a Christmas tipple or two, solve a puzzle in The Flushing Suite, and enjoy a truly Cornish buffet with all the trimmings. After a day filled with excitement, rest your weary head on top of our plush pillows and reflect on the magical memories made as you drift off into a peaceful slumber.

BOXING DAY

After all of yesterdays excitement, wake up at your leisure and savour a hearty breakfast on the water’s edge before diving into the days activities. For theatre fans we’ve organised a very special trip to the Cornish capital of Truro for a production of the fairytale classic, Jack and the Beanstalk. For package guests you’ll enjoy complimentary theatre tickets as well as transport to and from Hall for Cornwall where the show takes place.

Prefer a more laid back day? Take a leisurely stroll into Falmouth town, past the docks, taking in the stunning Pendennis Castle. Alternatively, if you fancy staying in the warmth, you’ll find a selection of games in our Flushing Suit to help you get cosy and competitive.

As the evening approaches, relax over another delicious dinner in the Water’s Edge, where a magical surprise will be waiting…

27TH DECEMBER

How do you like your eggs in the morning? After diving into breakfast one last time, it’s time to check out and head home, with our warmest wishes for 2025.

Additional guests and sole occupancy rates are available upon request. We require a £100 non-refundable deposit at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due by 31st October 2024 and non-refundable after this time. Dogs are charged at £20 per night and includes a water and food bowl for the night, and some gourmet treats for them to enjoy.
