1st July 2023: Splash Test Dummies at Trebah Gardens

5th-8th july 2023: Penzance Literary Festival

6th-9th June 2023: The Falmouth Cringe Festival
Where: Around Falmouth town
The Falmouth Cringe Festival is making a triumphant return, following its debut last summer. This four-day comedy extravaganza will once again grace the seaside town of Falmouth, showcasing an expanded, tickling line-up of talented comedians, from both local and international scenes.
Prepare to chuckle your way through this weekend, and be entertained by a diverse array of performers. The finest comics will be bringing their uproarious improv shows, side-splitting stand-up sets, and giggle-worthy sketch comedies to the various venues throughout Falmouth. Adding to the excitement, the festival organisers will also host the highly anticipated Cornish Comedian of the Year Awards. Unleash the laughter and indulge in some comedic relief this July.

8th-9th July 2023: Food Jam at Enys Gardens
Where: Enys Gardens, Penryn
Follow the scent of tempting food into the enchanting Enys Gardens on the 8th and 9th of July, for Food Jam. A weekend of tasty treats, drinks and music awaits. At this family-friendly event, bop along to live music, tuck into world foods, listen to inspiring talks and demos, and get lost on foraging walks through woodland paths and serene ponds.
13th, 22nd and 27th July 2023: Summer Garden Sessions at The Alverton
Where: Truro
The Summer Garden Sessions at The Alverton, our sister hotel in Truro, are in full swing! July looks set to be another fantastic month of incredible music and laid-back vibes.
Taking to the terrace stage throughout July are singer-songwriters Rue, and Sam Richardson, and acoustic duo True Foxes. Head over to The Alverton from 5:30pm and unwind in the lush oasis with a freshly-shaken cocktail for some intimate performances. Tickets are priced at £15 per person, and include a garden-view seat on the suntrap terrace, a complimentary summer cocktail upon arrival, and a delectable mezze plate to nibble on whilst you revel in the entertainment for the evening.

14th-17th July 2023: Tropical Pressure Festival
Where: Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan
Get ready for a summer fiesta set in the heart of Cornwall. This vibrant event transforms the grounds of Mount Pleasant Eco Park into a tropical paradise, with rich rhythms and flavours from diverse cultures. From pulsating Afrobeat and reggae, to seductive Latin, the festival showcases a line-up of talented musicians from around the world.
Indulge in mouth-watering, global cuisine, explore colourful craft markets, participate in workshops, and enjoy captivating performances and art installations. Tropical Pressure Festival brings the spirit of the tropics to the shores of Cornwall.
27th-29th June 2023: ROCK OYSTER FESTIVAL
Where: Padstow
Nothing screams summer, like the Rock Oyster Festival. And this year it’s back bigger and better than ever! The perfect blend of exceptional cuisine meets toe-tapping music, set in one of the region’s most renowned fishing villages.
Eat, drink and dance to the backdrop of the Camel estuary. Make sure to stop by the Chef Tipis to treat your taste buds to freshly caught fish, sumptuous Rock oysters, and perfectly-cooked lobster, prepared by renowned restaurants like Prawn On The Lawn, Onda, and One Fish Street. Check out the three stages this year, the Oyster Stage, The Howl, and Mussel Beach for a variety of talented performers ready to get the party started.
29th July 2023: DRAGON BOAT RACE
Where: Our pub downstairs, The Working Boat
Join us on Saturday 29th July for a thrilling event on our waterfront. Experience the prestigious annual Dragon Boat sailing race, as the Carrick Roads are decorated with the vibrant colours of boats. Head down to The Working Boat, let us pour you a refreshing pint of local ale, and make yourself comfy on our private quay as the races get underway. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s still time to sign up and take part!
We’ll be supporting Man Down, a men’s mental health charity in Cornwall, by donating 10% of all food and drink profits on the day. We’d love you to stick around after the excitement of the Dragon Boat racing, for a special evening performance by the talented local musician, Winter Mountain.
