Although the evenings may be getting darker and the weather colder, there’s plenty of things to do in Cornwall this November. Warm yourself up with a tipple or two at our weekly cocktail club, or learn a new skill at a sushi rolling class.
EVERY FRIDAY: Cocktail Club aT THE WATer’s EDGE, falmouth
Where: Right on our doorstep
Kick-start your weekend the right way with an evening at the Water’s Edge. At our cocktail club, you can expect to enjoy two for £10 cocktails whilst drinking in the views as your overlook the harbour. Enjoy laughs with friends and on the last Friday of each month, a guest appearance from live local musical talents. You can expect to see Ash Harding on 26th November for some chilled acoustic tunes! Entry to this event is free and all are welcome.

3rd November: The Comedy Network AT AMATa, FALMOUTH UNIVERSITY
Where: Ten minute drive
A monthly comedy show that will leave you in stitches. Grab a drink from the bar and enough laugh-out-loud comedy from comedians Garrett Millerick and Bella Hull. With an impressive resume between them, such as Garrett appearing on US late-night talk show Conan, and Bella winning Yellow Comedy Young Comedian of the year, this is an event you won’t want to miss! THROUGHOUT NOVEMBER: Ice Skating aT THE EDEN PROJECT, st austell
Where: one hour drive from The Greenbank
The Eden Project’s ice rink is back and has plenty of lessons for those that are new to the sport. You can choose beginner lessons or forty minute slots for those who are already gliding along with serious skills. This activity is fun for all of the family and makes for the perfect winter day out. 5th NOVEmber: fireworks display at falmouth cricket club
Where: Five minute drive
Hosted by Falmouth Firefighters, this incredible team are lighting up the night sky to celebrate bonfire night this November. Hosted at Falmouth Cricket Club, entry is £4 for adults and £2 for children. Local charities and good causes have also been invited to share the proceeds of this community effort, after successfully raising over £6000 which was shared to local charities and good causes last year, making the evening even more special to attend.
5th November: SEAGLASS JEWELLERY WORKSHOP AT INSPIRE MAKERS, FALMOUTH
Where: A short walk from The Greenbank
Learn to make a necklace, ring or bangle whilst being shown how to cut and file silver, solder and add textures, at this intimate and inspiring seaglass workshop. You can bring your own seaglass finds or choose from Porth Jewellery’s impressive collections. A special workshop where you’ll leave at the end of the day with your very own handmade piece of silver jewellery. Discover more sessions here.
6th november: Sam Brookes Trio At The Older Bakery Studios, Truro
Where: Thirty minute drive
Discover one of the UK folk scene’s best kept secrets. Bristol based songsmith Sam Brookes will be performing in Truro this month. His album ‘Kairos’ was named one of the year’s standout recordings by both The Independent and The Sunday Times. Sam’s sound is described as ‘folk-meets-jazz twisting and turning at the outer reaches of the singer-songwriter role’. Tickets are £15 and you can buy them here.
20th November: An enchanting lantern experience at the lost gardens of heligan
Where: 1hr drive from The Greenbank
Prepare to be mesmerised by the illuminated installations showcased by The Liverpool Lantern Company at Heligan this November. This outdoor experience will take you on a magical route around the gardens – you may even want to loop round twice! The Heligan team suggest to wear sturdy footwear, appropriate attire for the Cornish weather and to bring along a torch as this is an outdoor event. Find out more and book your tickets here.
25th November: SUSHI ROLLING CLASS AT ROBO ASIAN BAR AND CANTEEN, FALMOUTH
Where: Twenty minute walk from The Greenbank
Hosting their first sushi rolling class, Robo canteen is a fantastic local Asian bar and canteen with friendly staff and delicious food. The class will feature a sushi rolling demonstration followed by a guided lesson, where afterwards you will get to enjoy eating and drinking your creations. 25th November: CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON at THE MOOR, FALMOUTH
Where: Ten minute walk from The Greenbank
Gather together for a magical evening watching Falmouth’s Christmas lights getting switched on. The evening begins with the local primary schools gathering at Falmouth’s Events Square and showing off their wonderful decorations and colourful lanterns, followed by a choir and of course santa’s arrival, before heading through the town towards The Moor. You’ll then get to enjoy watching Falmouth’s nominated community champion switch on the lights. This event is completely free and all are welcome.
