What’s on in Cornwall this April

Music, local food and springtime blooms are set to flood Cornwall this April. And with warmer days on the horizon, there’s even more reason to set out and explore everything our region has to offer. To make the most of the longer days fast approaching, we’ve put together our top picks of notable events happening across Cornwall next month.

2ND April, Spring Flower Show, The Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge

Where: 50 minute drive from The Greenbank

Described by The Telegraph as “the most highly regarded spring show in the country”, don’t miss out on this annual spectacle. From charismatic carnations to perfect peonies, the Spring Flower Show will be an array of colours. Not only will the showground be filled with springtime blooms, but there’s also a chance to take part in botanical illustration courses as well as talks, and demonstrations in all things horticulture. : Enys Gardens


2nd & 3RD April: ENYS ANTIQUE FAIR, ENYS HOUSE, PENRYN

Where: 11 minute drive from The Greenbank

Transport yourself to the 18th Century, where a trove of treasure awaits. Enys Antique Fair takes place in the historic grounds that are sheltered by Enys house. Constructed within the 1800s, the setting is sure to make the event even more magical. Delve through antiques from the 18th – 20th century, contemporary art, home décor and so much more. Whether you’re a novice or an antiquing veteran, you’ll be sure to expand your knowledge and fall in love with the offerings. More information can be found here.



5TH & 6TH April: A Kiss that Missed, Minack Theatre, Penzance

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

Head to the most scenic theatre in the South-West to enjoy a retelling of a storybook classic this half-term. The Minack Theatre are putting on their very own play this month, which is sure to be fun for all the family. Join storyteller John Brolly and become enchanted by this classic retelling from David Melling’s delightful series of Knighly Tales. : The Cornish Bank


8TH – 9TH April: Wanderfal, multiple venues across Falmouth

Where: 15 minute walk from The Greenbank

WANDERFAL is a two-day arts festival fuelled with grassroot artists, collaborating across our town of Falmouth. Creative energy echoing from end to end, buskers and stages will be set up at the Princess PavilionUnderland Bar in The Old Brewery Yard and The Cornish Bank. Venues are ensured to exude colourful artistic exhibitions. The WANDERFAL Festival is the first of its kind in Falmouth and originators The Cornish Bank hope to make it an annual thing. The celebration of grassroot artists is sure to be wonderful.

: Porthleven Food Festival


22ND – 24TH April: Porthleven Food festival, Porthleven Harbour

Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank

At Porthleven Food Festival, expect to discover a harbour full of innovative cooking and all of Cornwall’s amazing producers and creatives. With a fantastic Chef’s Theatre and plenty of market traders and delicious food stalls on offer, you’re sure to get a real taste of what Cornish cuisine brings to the table. Porthleven is infamous for local ales and beer, so the festival is the perfect time to line your stomach. As well as flavour-packed food, you can expect to revel in local music performances – from dawn until dusk. Adults and children can enjoy a festival packed full of entertainment. This year there is no ticket charge, however, the organisers are asking for small donations to keep the festival and community running. You can find more information here.

THROUGHOUT April: FRIDAY COCKTAIL CLUB AT THE GREENBANK, FALMOUTH

Where: right on our doorstep

14TH, 20TH & 21TH April: Tide Benow, Forest School for Girls, Scots Quay Falmouth

Where: 24 minute drive from The Greenbank

Tide Benow Forest School is dedicated to creating a nurturing space for girls aged between 8 – 12. Exploring Bosahan Woods in Constantine, the sessions are perfect for the Easter Holidays. It gives young girls time to explore nature and learn useful outdoor skills. Making fires, climbing trees, exploring, and foraging are just some of the activities on offer. This creative school aims to help young girls find their voice and build self–esteem, independence, and cooperation in a non-judgemental space.
