We’ve raised over £6800 for CCF
Alongside our sister hotel, The Alverton, our team has been eagerly fundraising for Cornwall Community Foundation at every opportunity, a charity which helps thousands of grassroots, volunteer-led organisations across Cornwall.
In 2022, we teamed up with the Cornwall Community Foundation, and pledged to support the charity’s mission to help those front-line, volunteer-led organisations who are making a huge positive impact in their local area.
From youth clubs and food banks, to support groups tackling issues including mental health, loneliness, and bereavement, the charity has helped over 6,000 local projects across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Collectively, we have so far raised funds of around £7000 since the start of 2022, with amounts increasing all the time, through hosting charity quizzes, collecting donations at popular events in our pub- The Working Boat, and adding optional donations for online hotel room bookings. All these efforts have added up to a fantastic contribution to the much-needed charity supporting Cornwall’s important community projects, helping the most vulnerable.
Our sister hotel, The Alverton, is based in the heart of Truro.
Ben Young, Managing Director of The Greenbank and Alverton hotels shared:
“Our hotels sit in the very heart of their communities, yet within a stone’s throw of each are defined areas of poverty. These communities need the support of their local businesses in the best of times; let alone the challenging days we find ourselves in. It’s why we’re extremely grateful to everyone who has supported and donated to this unique charity. The funds we have raised so far will help CCF to make a difference to our local community groups. We look forward to allocating this to our deserving local community projects.
We also plan on continuing to show our ongoing support for CCF – an extremely worthy and essential organisation here in Cornwall- with a calendar of exciting events on the horizon in both Falmouth and Truro throughout the rest of the year.”
