We raised £2031 for Pink Wig in Falmouth Week
The Greenbank team are proud to share that we raised a total of £2031.54 through hosting the Pink Wig pre event party at the start of August.
The event marked the beginning of this year’s Falmouth Week and saw nearly 1000 pink wig wearers make the walk down from The Greenbank, all the way to Church Street carpark. This pink parade was led by the iconic Betty Stogs and the Falmouth Marine band.
The pre-party was a place for both participants and their family and friends to enjoy the celebrations of the annual event before taking part in the Pink Wig festivities.
The team at The Greenbank, who also wore pink wigs for the special occasion, raised the final amount by donating a portion of sales from their special Pink Wig cocktail menu, created exclusively for the event.
Now in its eleventh year, the Pink Wig night is not only an incredible way to raise awareness around breast cancer, but has allowed for thousands of pounds to be raised to support both vital equipment as well as research into earlier diagnosis and better treatments for breast cancer.
This month’s event comes off the back of last year’s successful Pink Wig pre-party. 2022 saw The Greenbank’s team raise an impressive £2700.
The Greenbank’s Hotel Manager, Matt Garland, said: “We were over the moon when we found out about the final donation total. This is an incredibly important cause and we are really proud to be a part of this amazing local event while also helping the Pink Wig team raise the much needed funds to continue supporting those in need.”
The final amount raised from this year’s event will help to continue support national and local breast cancer related charities. This includes the Breast Care team at The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, as well as Breast Cancer Now.
