You’ve woken up in the comfort of your hotel room at The Greenbank. Start the day the Falmouth way and wander down to the restaurant to enjoy a hearty Cornish breakfast. Served until 10:30am, fuel up for a day of exploring!

10AM – 11:30AM: stroll into town

Head towards the bustling town of Falmouth, a short five minute walk from The Greenbank. With stunning harbour views on your journey, start at the top of the old high street, where you’ll meet an array of independent businesses, such as gift shop The Grey Lurcher, coffee shop Beacon Coffee, clothing shop The Little Vintage Warehouse 13, and pottery café Star Glazers. Head further into the town, where mainstream shops are available, as well as the National Maritime Museum with their new exhibition Monsters of the Deep.

11:30AM – 1pM: sail to st mawes

Hop aboard the Fal River Ferry and explore our neighbouring village of St Mawes. One of Cornwall’s most popular boat trips, you’ll pass the impressive castles of St Mawes and Pendennis before journeying across the Carrick Roads. Here you may come across dolphins, seals and basking sharks that regularly visit the harbour.

1pM – 2pm: pause for lunch

Our Cornish county is known for being foodie-centric, and with an array of cafes, restaurants and bistros to visit, Falmouth is no exception. Travel the cuisine world and try African inspired restaurant Amazi, Caribbean infused Cribbs, or keep it Cornish with a traditional steak pasty at Choak’s. Looking for a traditional Cornish pub instead? The Working Boat, located just below The Greenbank, offers some pub grub classics with a Cornish twist. Nothing brings people together like good food – so sit back and enjoy the harbour views. (Booking is essential for tables of up to six people, call 01326 314283 to book.)

2pm – 5pm: head to cornish gardens

With striking coastal backdrops, an array of exotic flora and fauna, as well as experiences for all the family to enjoy, stroll through the vibrant tunnels of colour and see Cornwall like you’ve never seen it before.
