The Greenbank Real Weddings: Gemma and Alex Morris
The Greenbank team love seeing wedding photographs from our couples of their special day.
Here we feature Gemma and Alex Morris, who got married at The Greenbank in August 2018. Gemma and Alex hosted their ceremony and reception in The Riverbank, which can hold up to 120 guests. After the ceremony, the happy couple invited their guests to the Water’s Edge bar for a summery Pimm’s, as they had photos overlooking Falmouth harbour. After the welcome drinks, guests tucked into a three course meal in The Riverbank.
Why did you choose The Greenbank as your venue?
The main reason for choosing The Greenbank as our wedding venue was the stunning views of the boats out on the water. We also loved the decor of the hotel and there has always been such a calm and relaxing atmosphere every time we’ve visited.
What was the most special part of your wedding day?
Every single member of staff we dealt with were so friendly all the way from our first visits and planning meetings through to the big day itself. On the day we were made to feel like we were so special. All the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were looked after and had the most amazing day.
Any advice for future brides planning their big day?
My advice to future brides would be to attend some wedding fairs to meet with local suppliers so you can get inspiration for the things you would like for your wedding day. Also, ensure that you take time throughout the day to take everything in, as it flies by so fast! Jane gave us a few minutes to sit together and have a drink before the wedding breakfast which was great.
Any advice for the grooms?
Our advice to grooms who are nervous about their speech would be to speak to the hotel about having the speeches take place before the meal. We chose this option and it worked really well. You’re able to enjoy your meal rather than being too nervous to eat anything.
If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?
If we could do it all over again, there isn’t anything we would do differently! Our wedding day was perfect and we cannot recommend The Greenbank enough.
