SWANPOOL BEACH CAFÉ, Falmouth
Ice creams from this spot are all about the toppings. Known as ‘quirky cones’ you can expect your scoop to be topped with much more than a flake. Made up of local Callestick ice cream and smothered in Cornish clotted cream, your tub or cone is then covered in delicious toppings like honey-roasted hazelnuts, cherry fruit kisses, jelly babies or anything else your imagination can think of.

JELBERT’S, Newlyn
While we’re all for a bit of flavour, sometimes you can’t beat classic vanilla. This spot in Newlyn sells only one flavour of ice cream, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the trip down. With a simple mix of just milk, cream and sugar, Jelbert’s scoops are out of this world. Well worth the lengthy queue that might greet you in the height of summer.
KYNANCE COVE, the lizard
Nothing goes better with a scoop than some incredible coastal views. And Kynance Cove’s ice cream parlour delivers just that! Serving a selection of delicious flavours from Roskilly’s, this scoop is best enjoyed while you’re exploring the coves of the famous Kynance beach.
MOOMAID OF ZENNOR, St Ives
Commonly known among locals as ‘legendary Cornish ice cream’ you can’t beat a scoop of Cornwall’s Mermaid of Zennor. With a delicious selection of flavours that incorporate local ingredients, a dollop of Zennor always goes down a treat. With several ice cream parlours dotted about Cornwall, you’d be hard pressed to not come across one on your travels. But we do recommend a visit to their farm, based neat St Ives. Not only can you indulge in your chosen scoop here, but you’ll also get the chance to meet the mysterious ‘Moomaids’.

CHAPEL PORTH BEACH, St Agnes
This coastal spot in St Agnes is well-known for its famous hedgehog ice creams. While it sounds a bit prickly, this sweet treat is actually pretty delicious and consists of a scoop of Cornish ice cream, a dollop of clotted cream and a generous coating of roasted and toasted hazelnuts. It’s a delicious blend that goes perfectly with this Cornish location’s stunning coastal views.
