Andrew George is a Cornish wedding photographer with a passion for capturing real moments of emotion and happiness on couples’ big days. Having shot weddings at both The Greenbank, and our sister hotel, The Alverton, we thought we’d catch up with Andrew to learn a little more about him…
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHING A WEDDING AT THE GREENBANK HOTEL?
The Greenbank Hotel is an iconic part of Falmouth’s historic waterfront, and it’s admired by us locals and visitors alike, so it’s always a pleasure to shoot a wedding there. Falmouth is my beautiful hometown. For me, the best part about the venue is the unbeatable backdrops – both inside the charming historic building and outdoors on the water’s edge. Everywhere you look, there’s a perfect set up for a stunning photo!
what’s the best piece of advice for a couple planning their big day?
There can be a lot of stress around planning a wedding, which can sometimes seep into the big day too. But it really shouldn’t, as it’s a momentous day that you won’t be able to do again. Therefore, my best piece of advice is to be wholly present. Don’t worry about the details as everything’s been taken care of! Enjoy each other, your friends and family, and the wonderful essence of the day.
What’s your favourite image you’ve ever taken?
Ahh, heck! This is always a hard question! Shooting weddings in Cornwall in the summer means that it is always sunny (nearly!) I have a bit of a thing for trees and on a sunny day the soft light underneath one you cannot beat! I just love this shot taken at The Alverton in Truro.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS ONCE A COUPLE ENQUIRES ABOUT YOU PHOTOGRAPHING THEIR WEDDING?
We chat. About the couple, and what their dream wedding looks like. And about me too, and how I approach weddings to ensure all of the beautiful moments and story of the day is captured for them to cherish. From there, we stay in touch and bounce ideas around. I’m always on hand to answer any questions the couple have, or to give my input when it comes to planning.
why should couples choose the greenbank hotel?
The venue is naturally striking, to say the least, but it can also be a fabulous blank canvas for couples to be playful with. They can choose to create a vintage-inspired wedding, opt for a relaxed coastal vibe, or simply go for something classically stylish and chic. And all with the most unforgettable views and details to accompany.
why should couples choose you as their wedding photographer?
I’m here to capture all the little (and large) details of the day and piece it together beautifully. There are wonderful things happening everywhere during a wedding. I love capturing the moments that truly express the excitement of the day. Each wedding is totally unique, and I invest personally in each one to create photos I know the whole wedding party will adore.

Charming. Characterful. Fun!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN FALMOUTH?
The town is a charismatic and bustling hub of creativity and lovely little happenings. Wherever you walk in Falmouth, you’ll be greeted with the sound of music, people laughing and a plethora of little alleyways that always lead to the sea. You can’t help but feel happy when you’re here.
