Holly’s Sustainable Cosmopolitan Cocktail Recipe
SUSTAINABLE COSMOPOLITAN COCKTAIL RECIPE: COSMO ON THE WATER’S EDGE
When Ketel One approached our bar manager, Holly, to create her own take on a low wastage cosmopolitan cocktail recipe for National Cosmo Day, her creative ideas began to soar. Holly knew she wanted to create a cosmopolitan cocktail recipe that best represented the beautiful environment she lived in, here on the Cornish coast. As well as this, Holly planned to do what she does best, by shaking together a mix of delicious ingredients to bring out all the incredible flavours this classic cocktail has to offer.
“I wanted to create a low wastage, sustainable cosmopolitan for Cosmo Day that not only reflected the flavour profile of this classic cocktail, but also our coastal location. In order to prevent wastage there is no fresh citrus in this cocktail. It instead uses our in-house made cordial that combines a bright Seville orange citrus marmalade with cranberry juice and Cornish sea salt. The cordial then pairs beautifully with Manzanilla sherry which brings a crisp, fresh and smooth salinity. This reflects our coastal location and a perfect low waste alternative to fresh cranberry juice.”
YOU WILL NEED:
- 50ml Ketel One Citroen
- 50ml homemade cranberry and seville orange cordial
- 20ml Manzanilla sherry
- Garnish: seville orange hydrosol
Simply shake up all the ingredients and fine strain into a tall cocktail glass. Don’t forget to garnish with a single spritz of the seville orange hydrosol that’s listed, to make your cocktail really pop! Find out more on our Instagram page.
