27th may-4th June 2023: open studios cornwall
Where: all over Cornwall
Between Saturday 27th May and Sunday 4th June, hundreds of artists, designers and makers from across The Duchy will throw open the doors of their studios and workshops to share their artistic practice against a uniquely Cornish backdrop of creek, countryside and coast.
By following the distinctive orange O’s that denote these quaint and quirky spaces in beautiful places, Open Studios Cornwall offers an exploration of multiple art forms – from painting to pottery, furniture to felt making, weaving to woodturning, and more–to inspire ideas, enchant the eye and stimulate the senses.

2nd-4th June 2023: The great estate festival
Where: Scorrier House, Redruth
Dust off your most outrageously vibrant attire for a garden party like no other. The Great Estate Festival, hosted in the countryside grounds of Scorrier House in Redruth, is a weekend-long funfair for the whole family. Wander through the fields and discover disco balls from tree trunks, pop-up magic shows, secret parties in gin gardens, and incredible live music from noon till nightfall.
During the daytime, get involved with family-friendly activities, from arts and crafts, to mindfulness workshops and laughing yoga. Come evening time, this lively carnival can get a little rowdy, for all the right reasons. Rock out at the main stage with incredible headliners, get ready for a rave in nature, at the famous woodland silent disco, or for something wacky, get yourself down to Madame Wong’s House of Wrong. Join for a day, or make a weekend of it. It’s not one to miss!
7th-28th june 2023: The eden sessions
Where: The Eden Project, St Austell
One of the country’s most unique music venues, The Eden Project is Cornwall’s greenest stage. Set in a massive crater, the clay pit turned pioneering eco-landmark is hosting a line-up of international superstars to play at their annual Eden Sessions gigs.
Due to the nature of the location, the Eden Sessions stage has the most incredible acoustics that money can’t buy, attracting the likes of Lionel Richie, Yungblud, Jack Johnson, and The Pet Shop Boys to perform this summer. Grab a drink and get ready to dance under the twinkling stars and illuminated biomes. Your ticket also gives you access to the rest of the Eden Project during the day, a great excuse to explore the subtropical and Mediterranean biomes and learn something new, before the show commences.
8th-10th june 2023: The Royal Cornwall Show
Where: Wadebridge, North Cornwall
Dating back as far as the 1700s, The Royal Cornwall Show is a highlight in the agricultural calendar. Steeped in Cornish tradition and culture, expect riding competitions, cattle shows, car displays, horticultural exhibitions, cider competitions and live music. Browse thousands of stalls, fill up on local food and drink, and soak up the Cornish sunshine in Wadebridge.
8TH june 2023: The Pre-Oscars Murder Mystery Party
Where: The Greenbank Hotel, Falmouth
Rub shoulders with Hollywood’s glitterati at the hotly anticipated Pre-Oscars dinner party. Take your seat in the Riverbank Suite for a night of plot twists at this immersive murder mystery evening. Executive Chef, Nick Hodges, has carefully created a decadent dinner fit for a room full of movie stars. Don’t let your guard down between pleasantries, as a killer is amongst you, and you’ll need your best detective skills to get you through the evening!
12th-20th May 2023: roots culture market
Where: Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan
Great tunes, artisan food stalls, and the best local makers across Cornwall are gathering at Mount Pleasant Eco Park this month. Spend a Sunday browsing handmade jewellery, upcycled clothing, exceptionally crafted pottery and more at the Roots Culture Market in Porthtowan.
Don’t leave without trying something delicious from the range of food vendors, serving up soulful veggie and vegan street food. A dog-friendly event, bring the whole family, support local creatives, and treat yourself to some retail therapy.
15th & 29th june 2023: summer garden sessions at the alverton
Where: The Alverton, Truro
The Alverton’s Summer Garden Sessions are making their return this year. Nine talented acoustic musicians will be performing to a terrace full of diners, from May through till August. Set in the beautiful private gardens of the historic hotel, head over to Truro for one of their signature cocktails and tasty mezze dishes, and kick back in the sunshine to soak up the melodic harmonies and lyrics from the singer-songwriters.

16th – 18th june 2023: Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival
Where: Various venues in Falmouth
Strap in for an ‘ale’ of a time at the International Sea Shanty Festival in Falmouth. A weekend of beer and shanties, our seaside town can be heard for miles singing the songs of the sea and celebrating the history of these important maritime anthems. Named as Europe’s largest free nautical music festival, we are proud sponsors again. Our Greenbank marquee will be one of the main stages in town, hosting some of the most famous shanty bands and singers of the weekend. Grab a pint and join in the fun!
24th June 2023: Armed Forces Day
Where: Various venues across Falmouth
Head to Falmouth on Saturday 24th June to get involved in the prestigious Armed Forces Day. A chance to show your support for the Armed Forces community, there’s plenty of activities planned across various venues in Falmouth. The famous Red Arrows will be taking to the Cornish skies in a spectacular air show, and military marching bands will parade through the streets. A Proms-style concert will take place at Pendennis Castle, followed by dazzling fireworks over the harbour to end the day in style. A fantastic free event to get involved with, book in advance and you’ll also receive a tour of a naval ship.
