What’s on in March 2020: Cornwall’s Diary
Spring has sprung! March into the new month with plenty of fun things to do in Cornwall. Events going on this month include a proper St Piran’s celebration, a rockin’ music festival and lots of treats for Mother’s Day. Roll on March in Cornwall!
5th march: ST PIRAN’S DAY CORNISH FOLK CONCERT, the alverton
Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
It doesn’t get more Cornish than this. To celebrate St Piran’s Day, the annual celebration of Cornish heritage and culture, a fabulous folk concert will be held at our sister hotel in Truro. The Alverton‘s Great Hall will be the setting for a night of quintessentially Cornish entertainment.
Hosted by local singer-songwriter Will Keating, the stunning venue will welcome internationally renowned Cornish duo Davey & Dyer, and world-renowned Banjo player John Dowling. And it wouldn’t be a Cornish knees-up without some local ale and classic Kernow cuisine. Tuck into a piping hot pasty washed down with a swift pint from official sponsors Sharp’s Brewery – all included with your ticket – or for something sweeter, try a homemade saffron bun. Find out more and buy your tickets dreckly by heading to The Alverton’s Eventbrite page here.
12th March: SONGFEST 2020, princess pavilion, falmouth

Children from twelve local schools will be singing their hearts out, from large choirs to soloists.
19th – 29th march: FALMOUTH SPRING FESTIVAL, falmouth

20TH MARCH: MONSTERS OF THE DEEP, THE NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM, FALMOUTH
Where: 10 minute drive from The Greenbank
Something curious is going on at The National Maritime Museum. On 20th March, the museum will be launching their latest exhibition, and it promises to be eye-opening. Plunge down into the dark murky depths of the ocean and discover the secret creatures that lurk. Sharing tales, folklore and conspiracy theories of sea monsters and mythical beings, learn all about the science behind these legends and whether they hold any truth, or simply live in the fictional world. ‘Monsters of the Deep’ is a spine-chilling experience to check out in 2020.
