1st – 9th May: Bluebell Festival, Enys Gardens

Where: 10 minute drive from The Greenbank

Step into spring with a visit to Enys Gardens to see their beautiful bluebells this May. These picturesque blooms will be open to view between 11am and 5pm, from 1st to 9th May. One of our favourite settings to visit this month in Cornwall!

May 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th: Champagne Afternoon Tea Terrace, The Greenbank

Where: Right on our doorstep

Our open-air terrace, with panoramic views across the harbour, will be open every Saturday and Sunday until we fully open on 17th May. Sessions are available from 12pm until 6pm. For £30 per person, you will receive a platter of delicious treats, including a bottomless pot of Cornish tea and chilled glass of champagne. 4th May & 18th May: Tate Collective Producer Sessions, tate st ives

Where: Online

A series of workshops for 15–25 year olds, these workshops run by Tate St Ives are a fantastic opportunity for young people to meet like-minded and inspiring creatives this May in Cornwall. 5th May: Sharp Teeth Theatre presents Sherlock in Homes – ‘Murder on Ice’

Where: Online

Sharp Teeth Theatre are back with a brand new online interactive murder mystery for all the family to enjoy! Murder on Ice, a story-line set in 1920s Antarctica, will need all of your detective skills to solve these ice-cold crimes. 15th May: The Big Jump, Perranporth

Where: 35 minute drive from The Greenbank

On Saturday 15th May 2021, you can join a group skydive that’s hosted in Perranporth. This charity event is to help end the suffering caused by eating disorders. 17th May: Archaeological Exhibition, the Museum of Cornish Life

Where: 25 minute drive from The Greenbank

On 17th May, The Museum of Cornish Life in Helston will be opening a new temporary exhibition, looking at their archaeological collection and the work of the Finds Liaison Officer in Cornwall. A visit here is a guaranteed educational experience where you can discover sides of Cornwall you may have never seen before.

18th May: Archaeoastronomy Workshop, Tin Coast

Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank

Interested by archaeoastronomy? This is the perfect workshop if you want to try something new. On 18th May you can spend the day learning techniques and about software which can be used to look at how the ancient skies around Cornwall would have differed to today. A trip to the historic Tregeseal stone circle will let you put your skills to practice and connect with your Cornish surroundings. Local archaeoastronomer Carolyn Kennett will lead these sessions and you can learn more about this workshop, here.

19th MAY: Writing young adult fiction with Emily Barr

Where: Online

Young adult novelist, Emily Barr, will be leading a masterclass where you can discover what makes a young adult novel work and learn exercises to help you start writing. This will be an online masterclass run using Zoom. Bring your old drafts, blow the dust off them and spark life back into your novel with this exciting workshop.

20th May: The Canterbury Tales by David Mynee, The Acorn Theatre, penzance

Where: 50 minute drive from The Greenbank
