What’s on in Cornwall this January 2022
Happy New Year!
While this time of the year can tend to leave us feeling a little blue, there’s plenty going during the month in and around Falmouth to help you combat those pesky winter woes. From yoga cleanse workshops, Cocktail Clubs and Cornish escapes, we’ve put together the ultimate what’s on in Cornwall guide for you to enjoy this January 2022…

Until 2nd January: Heligan night garden, St Austell
Where: 55 minute drive from The Greenbank
Catch the last of Heligan’s spectacular light display and be mesmerised by the illuminated installations at Heligan. This outdoor experience will take you on a magical route around the gardens – so magical that you may even want to loop around twice! Sturdy footwear and appropriate attire for the Cornish weather is strongly advised as well as a torch to bring along as this is an outdoor event. Find out more and book your tickets here.
Throughout January: Ice Skating at The Eden Project
Where: 55 minute drive from The Greenbank
Skate your way through January with the Eden Project’s glittering ice rink. This annual tradition is one of our top things to do in January in Cornwall. Just remember to wrap up warm in woolly hats, scarves and jumpers before pirouetting across the ice. Discover more and how to book here.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get fitter in 2022, why not join the Run Crew? Get your running gear on, make friends and jog around various locations in Falmouth or Truro. Whether you’re a running newbie or have got some serious sprinting skills, you’ll be sure to have fun with the crew. Discover more here.
Every Friday in JANUARY: COCKTAIL CLUB at The Water’s Edge, Falmouth

Whether you’re doing dry January or plan on keeping the tipples flowing, keep your spirits bright throughout the month by joining us at our Cocktail Club. Clock off for the weekend and enjoy two cocktails for £10 every Friday in our harbourside bar and lounge. From local vodkas to hand-made infused gins and even alcohol-free spirits, our Head of Mixology, Holly, has put together a menu of tantalising tipples to help you awaken your senses from 5pm until late. 8th January: THIS IS GOING TO HURT at hall for cornwall, truro
Where: 20 minute drive from The Greenbank
Ex Junior Doctor Adam Kay is bringing his darkly funny medical tales all the way to Hall for Cornwall, as part of the South-West leg of his award-winning show ‘This Is Going To Hurt’. Based on the autobiography of the same name, spend your evening listening to Adam’s gruesomely grim and belly bursting tales of his time spent working as a doctor in London. 8th January: wassail, Newquay orchard
Where: 50 minute drive from The Greenbank
Take part in an ancient tradition with this very special apple-tastic event. Taking place in Newquay Orchards, join the wassailers as they welcome in the new harvest. Enjoy the juice of the apples as you hang toast from the apple trees and make loud noises to ward off bad spirits – ensuring a fruitful harvest for 2022. After the ceremony is complete, head to the community field to enjoy fireside storytelling and a delicious, warming food and drink offering. In terms of the dress code, warm coats and sturdy boots are required while green face paint and feathers are highly encouraged. Discover more here.
10th – 14th January: 5 DAY CLEANSE with Falmouth yoga space, Falmouth

Explore the histories and ideas of modern artists working in and around St Ives during the last century at the Tate St Ives exhibition. The artworks displayed introduce the local, national and international significance of a creative community that is still thriving today. You will have the opportunity to see the Modern Art and St Ives displays alongside the current exhibition: Petrit Halilaj: Very volcanic over this green feather.
