Every Sunday: Charity Pub Quiz

Where: The Working Boat, Falmouth

Sunday evenings are best spent below decks at The Working Boat, where the team hosts a lively charity pub quiz from 7:30pm. Expect a friendly atmosphere, plenty of prizes and a good dose of competition, all in support of a local Cornish charity. Entry is free, with optional donations welcomed, making it the perfect way to round off the weekend while giving something back.

Monday 12th – Saturday 17th January: ‘Time’ by Luxmuralis

Presented at Truro Cathedral, ‘Time’ is an immersive experience exploring humanity’s relationship with time through light, sound and story. Move through projected installations inspired by science, history and imagination, from theories of relativity and H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine to the origins of our planet. Traversing wormholes, stepping inside the workings of clocks and journeying back to the very beginning, this atmospheric event offers a quietly awe-inspiring experience in a truly unique setting.

Every Monday: Open Mic Night

Where: The Working Boat, Falmouth

Ease into the week with Open Mic Night at The Working Boat every Monday from 8pm. Showcasing the best of Falmouth’s local talent, this relaxed, waterside evening welcomes musicians, poets and performers of all kinds. Performers are treated to a free drink, while guests can enjoy a laid-back night of live entertainment by the harbour.

Wednesday 20th – Sunday 24th January: Midsomer Murders – The Killings at Badger’s Drift

Where: Hall for Cornwall, Truro

Murder comes to the countryside at Hall for Cornwall with the theatrical world premiere of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift. Part of a major national tour, this gripping stage adaptation brings the much-loved television series to life. When Emily Simpson is found dead in the idyllic village of Badger’s Drift, DCI Tom Barnaby and Sergeant Gavin Troy uncover a web of secrets, rivalries and hidden passions. With eccentric characters, shocking twists and a classic whodunnit reveal, this thrilling production promises suspense from start to finish.

Friday 23rd January: Burns Night With A Twist

Where: The Falmouth Hotel, Falmouth

Celebrate Burns Night in bold, coastal style with this unique six-course tasting experience at The Falmouth. Blending Scottish heritage with Cornish flavours, the evening is thoughtfully paired with both Cornish and Scottish whisky. Set within the hotel’s grand Victorian surroundings, with sweeping sea views beyond the windows, this reimagined Burns Night promises poetry, exceptional food and warming winter atmosphere.

From Friday 30th January: Jane Southern Exhibition

Where: The Maritim Museum, Falmouth

Opening at the end of January, this moving Maritim Museum exhibition by local artist Jane Southern explores the powerful role art can play in mental health recovery. Through paintings inspired by the Cornish coast and personal storytelling, the exhibition charts Jane’s creative journey through grief, growth and artistic discovery. Running until 19th April 2026, it forms part of the Museum’s artist-led series responding to the maritime world.

Saturday 31st January: The Alverton’s Wedding Showcase

Where: The Alverton, Truro

Discover one of Cornwall’s most elegant wedding venues at The Alverton’s Wedding Showcase, running from 10am to 3pm. Meet the team, explore the venue at your own pace and see the Great Hall dressed in its wedding finest by Emily Rose. With fizz on arrival, live caricatures and inspiration at every turn, it’s the perfect opportunity to envision your dream day in the heart of Cornwall.
