Wedding photos, Falmouth style

Your wedding album is something that countless people will look over for years to come and ask ‘do you have any photos from the big day?’ so it’s no surprise couples go to great lengths to get the snaps that pay homage to their special date. We’ve been around Falmouth to find the best locations to fill your wedding reel on the day you say “I do”.

Rule at Pendennis Castle

A grand location in spring, summer, autumn, and especially winter: Pendennis Castle is a magnificent spectacle when illuminated in low light, so what better place to pose as a newly partnered lord and lady?

As well as the solid foundation of the Tudor castle as a focal point, the sea breeze and lights of passing ships make for a romantic landscape, much like the twinkle of moonlight bouncing from Falmouth Harbour for those celebrating closer to the town.

…On a beautiful pea green boat

Whether it’s sipping cocktails during your reception or savouring a champagne breakfast on the first morning as man and wife, couples adore spending time on the water.

The simple act of cataloguing the short walk from ceremony to waterside in a series of photographs is a delightful way to record your first steps as a committed couple, especially for those who choose a nautical navy and white colour scheme!

Be a seaside bride

The town beaches around Falmouth means there’s no shortage of opportunities for some sandy snaps before or after the ceremony.

Surfer girls can pay tribute to their passion at Gyllyngvase, dramatic characters can stand atop the rocks at low-tide on Castle Beach and in wintertime Swanpool (site of special scientific interest) is just as stunning in the closing months of the year.

A quick shot of espresso (or something slightly stronger from behind the bar) will give you additional fire inside to brace against chilly breezes, but we’re sure you’ll be beaming so much from the ceremony you won’t even notice!

Nature lovers

Getting back to nature is something that newlyweds can’t seem to get enough of, and the peace and tranquility of Trebah Garden with its native, exotic and record-breaking flora are exceptional photographic opportunities. Man and wife under a canopy of giant gunnera, beside the waterfall and koi carp pond or walking hand in hand on the pebbles of Polgwiddon Cove, Trebah Garden is fantastic for wedding pictures that tell a tale or two. Why not finish off the album with a few frames of the happy couple crossing the threshold of their waterside honeymoon suite? How romantic!

Falmouth is rich in unique opportunities to make your wedding album how you always imagined it, and The Greenbankwedding team are always more than willing to help you every ‘click’ of the way!
