Top Ways To Step Into Spring In Falmouth

Spring is officially here, and with it comes warmer days and springtime sun. There’s lots of ways to make the most of longer daylight hours. From beach yoga to bluebell wanders, our guide to spring in Falmouth has you covered.

Take a stroll through the bluebells

Where: Enys Gardens

Wander through one of the oldest gardens in Cornwall – Enys Gardens. May time floods it’s fields with the bloom of spring bluebells resembling a fairy-tale. The garden also nurtures a habitat of conifers, rare Cornish apple trees, numerous flower gardens and ponds.

Only ten minutes away from The Greenbank, it’s a must see when in Falmouth. Expect to discover buildings dating back to the 1820s and the quaintest garden café.

Walk on water

Where: Right on our doorstep

Springtime at The Greenbank means the sun hitting our quay, which lends itself excellently to water activities. A huge favourite is SUP. The mostly calm harbour gives plenty of open space for novices and experts alike to join in the hobby.

Whether you have enough expertise to paddle across the river to Flushing for an ice-cream, or spend most of the time getting wet near shore – it’s one of the best ways to embrace the springtime sun in Falmouth.

Sunny refreshments with local ales

Where: The Working Boat, Falmouth

For all the beer fans far and wide, Cornwall produces some of the best. Verdant Brewery – infamous in the craft brewing world – is a mere eight minute drive from The Greenbank. What’s even better is that our pub, The Working Boat has Verdant taps (the freshest hops you can get!).

Join us for a taste of Verdant’s new nitro stout – Sail We Must (4.2%). Available exclusively in the South West, The Working Boat is one of only 15 official launch venues, so don’t miss out.

A breath of spring air

Where: Throughout Falmouth

Stretch away the winter blues and say hello to a new season with some beach yoga and meditation. Falmouth lends itself to a host of rare experiences, many being on our beautiful beaches – most around fifteen minutes away from The Greenbank.

An ever-growing favourite in the Cornish mindfulness scene, Cornish based teacher Lily Wild Yoga holds sessions throughout Falmouth. Check out times and locations on Lily’s Instagram.

Pick some daffodils

Where: Prince of Wales Pier, Falmouth

Take a visit to one of the most beloved stalls in Falmouth. Perched at the entrance to the Prince of Wales pier is a very yellow hut with some very yellow flowers – our local daffodil stall. Rain or shine you’ll always be met with a smile from the gentleman who mans the yellow hut.

Daffodils have a strong affiliation with Cornish heritage, so why not brighten up your day? There’s no better way to pick up the nation’s favourite springtime bloom.

The beds are some of the comfiest we’ve slept in – although they’re narrowly beaten as our favourite thing about the place by the harbour views from the rooms bay window.
