With The Greenbank Hotel only a few minutes’ walk from the high street, everyone can have an evening of indulgence visiting the best wine bars in Falmouth, And believe us, there’s something for everyone. Take a look at our top five wine bars below…
La Cave
Owners Andy and Freyja set out to create La Cave having been inspired by their many trips to France. Over sixty different types of wine are available from all over France – be it red, white or rosé – so there is bound to be a tipple for you to enjoy. Most of their wines go hand-in-hand with their fantastic French cuisine, creating an enjoyable experience that will make you feel more like you’re in France than Falmouth. Cheese board anyone?
The Chintz Symposium
For those looking for a quirky alternative, owners Duncan and Franciska have created a cultural community hub at The Chintz. Expect live acts from bands to comedy nights, poetry readings to political debates, talks from authors, burlesque shows and more – whilst enjoying a glass of wine or two! Inspired by their favourite book Alice in Wonderland, they’ve created that feeling of ‘falling down the rabbit hole’ when you enter the bar. Prepare to be wowed from every corner as everything is not quite as it seems…
Dolly’s Tea Room
Inspired by the 1920s, Dolly’s Tea Room transforms from a traditional tea room in the day to an often raucous candlelit bar at night serving delicious tapas and wines, with a vast collection of gins. The friendly staff will serve your cocktails in unique teapots so you can pour them into vintage teacups. And the piano is often played, with music ranging from Chopin to Frank Sinatra. You’ll also meet a labrador called Hebe who wears a pearl necklace. Truly the perfect place to go to step back in time!
The Brig
How about heading over to The Brig, where the crew will create cocktail combinations that you didn’t even know existed? A unique basement bar kitted out like a pirate ship, experience this rustic vibe with a drink in hand. We recommend mixing it up a little and trying one of their unique cocktails alongside a hearty sharing platter.
The Water’s Edge Bar
Whether you start your evening or finish the night in our Water’s Edge bar, we have plenty to offer. We’ve taken our time to source our drinks menu, including over fifty wines, local vodkas, infused gins and artisan vermouths. Kick back and watch the boats sail by, as you enjoy a large glass of your favourite tipple. Feeling festive? Kick back with a mulled wine for just £4.50 a glass.
