September Featured Cocktails in the Bar
Warming apple pie, spicy macho blends, and 007’s signature cocktail. We’ve got five greats on our hit-list this month. Say hello to the start of autumn with these trusty favourites…
Tuaca Crumble (1st – 8th September)
Apple crumble in a glass. Tuaca is a liqueur made from oak-aged Italian brandy, then infused with citrus and vanilla. Top it up with a sprinkling of cinnamon, apple juice and lemon, and we promise you’ll be ordering another.
Martinez (8th – 15th September)
Of all the classic cocktails, the Martinez is the most worthy. Often named the father of the Martini, this timeworn tipple is a refreshing blend of gin, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, angostura bitters and cherry liqueur. Expect a burnt honey colour and complicated but well-balanced taste.
Rusty Nail (15th – 22nd September)
Served in an old-fashioned glass on the rocks, the robust Rusty Nail was made to be enjoyed watching the sun go down. Drambuie and Scotch whiskey are the starring roles in this virile concoction.
Daiquiri (22nd – 29th September)
No must-try list would be complete without a Daiquiri. The holy trinity of light rum, fresh citrus and sugar make this Cuban beauty a sure fire hit. Sharp, energising and downright dreamy.
Vesper (29th September – 6th October)
“Just a moment. Three measures of gin, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?” ~ James Bond, who created his signature cocktail in 1953. Hard week at work? The Vesper is the perfect way to start your weekend.
Come try our tipples for yourself! Snap up two cocktails for £10 every Friday evening in the Greenbank bar, including the above during their designated weeks.
