Sea Shanty Festival – 12th – 14th June
The Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival is one of the biggest maritime music festivals on the nautical calendar and as everyone knows, here at the Greenbank, we’re mad about all things maritime!
The oldest hotel in Falmouth, Greenbank used to be a famous hotel for packet ship captains and has stayed true to its maritime roots. Built on the edge of the water and with our own private beach, garden and pier, we’re now put pontoons in place so that boats can moor up and visit the upcoming hotel pub, the Working Boat and our Water’s Edge Restaurant.
The Sea Shanty festival promises to be an event to remember (unless you have a bit too much Cornish ale!) and all proceeds of the special Gala concert (£10 per ticket) will go to the RNLI. The event will take over Events Square, the Moor and Custom House Quay with free-to-attend shanty performances and 2015 being the biggest year yet with 53 shanty groups and 21 different venues!
Over 25,000 people attended the Sea Shanty Festival last year so expect lots of singing, merriment and celebrations through the streets of Falmouth. We still have rooms available but be quick, hopefully we shanty sea you there!
