13th – 14th november: THE MACMILLAN CHRISTMAS FAIR, the eden project, st austell
Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank
The Eden Project will be hosting the Macmillan Christmas Fair again this year. The iconic biomes will be lit up in green to celebrate the festive season. Head to the markets in the Eden Kitchen for home accessories, beautiful jewellery and clothing, and delicious treats. The fair is free to attend, with all stall holders donating 15% of their sales to Cornwall Macmillan. Christmas is all about goodwill, so discover delightful Cornish gifts and crafts whilst helping to raise money for cancer patients in Cornwall.
15TH NOVEMBER: ZENNOR ARTS AND CRAFTS CHRISTMAS FAIR, zennor village hall, st ives
Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank
Ceramics, jewellery, books, textiles and more – Zennor Arts and Crafts Christmas Fair is full of festive cheer and products made and sold by locals. This cosy Cornish Christmas event is only 50p to attend, and includes a free tea or coffee. Tuck into homemade cakes and meet new people at this community gathering.
15TH – 17TH NOVEMBER: ETSY MADE LOCAL CHRISTMAS FAIR, FALMOUTH UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, PENRYN
Where: 10 minute drive from The Greenbank
Get your festive shopping underway, with over 70 contemporary stalls to choose from! Peruse Cornish products, munch on yummy street food and chat to locals at this hub of creativity and all things Christmas. On the Friday evening you can enjoy cocktails and live music from Tom Dale. 16TH NOVEMBER – 22ND DECEMBER: HEALEY’S CYDER FARM CHRISTMAS MARKETS, PENHALLOW
Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
Have a slice of festive cake in Mrs Claus’ kitchen, discover sweet treats at the elves’ corner, shop for unique Cornish gifts and warm up your carol singing chords with mulled cyder all round. The festivities have arrived at the farm. On selected weekends throughout November and December, visit Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm and try one of their speciality cyder floats or whiskey hot chocolates. A day out for the whole family, festive face-painting and arts and craft stations will bring the magic of Christmas to life for the little ones too.
27th november – 1st december: MADE IN CORNWALL CHRISTMAS FAIR, lemon quay, truro
Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
Officially certified by Trading Standards as ‘Made in Cornwall’, the 80+ traders at this Christmas fair in the city are Cornish through and through. From jigsaw puzzles, candles and pottery to chocolates, homemade jams and local ales – you’re guaranteed to find a gift for everyone on your Christmas list!
30th november: THE MAKERS’ MARKET CHRISTMAS EDITION, newlyn art gallery, penzance
Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank
Taking place on the same day as Penzance Christmas light switch on, the Makers’ Market is the perfect yuletide event to get the festivities going. Meet friendly makers, shop for great gifts and indulge on mince pies and mulled wine. There will also be free craft activities including colourful Christmas tree decoration workshops.
30TH NOVEMBER – 1ST DECEMBER: FLAMBARDS’ CHRISTMAS FAYRE, HELSTON
Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
A Christmas fair with a unique twist, take a trip back in time and walk the cobbles of Flambards’ Victorian Village. Lined with over 80 stalls, each street will be transformed into a grotto of all things bright and beautiful. Helston town band and a Christmas carol sing-a-long will create a wonderfully merry atmosphere throughout the theme park and indoor exhibitions. For Christmas Fayre visitors, entry is just £1 over this festive weekend!
5TH – 9TH DECEMBER: PADSTOW CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL, PADSTOW TOWN
Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank
In its twelfth year, Padstow hosts one of the largest Christmas festivals in Cornwall and the UK. Padstow is renowned for being the foodie hot-spot in Cornwall. Celebrity chef demos, Christmas light walks, Santa’s grotto and a whole host of stalls with locally made gifts and Cornish produce, this festival is not one to miss.
7th – 8th december: THE ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS MARKET, heartlands, redruth
Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
One of the more unique Christmas festivals in Cornwall, head to Heartlands for an alternative Christmas market. The two day event will have stalls, lots of food and performers, and promises to be bigger and better than ever!
14th – 15th december: FALMOUTH’S FESTIVE WEEKEND, falmouth
Where: all throughout Falmouth town!
Falmouth will be transformed into a winter wonderland on the weekend of the 14th and 15th December. Get festive with delicious street food, sing-a-long with carollers, take a ride on the snow train and show off your skating skills on the artificial ice-rink. Enjoy a warming tipple in one of the Nordic tipis on Events Square, complete with a roaring fire. Finish the festive weekend off in style at the big party night, featuring top swing band Company B.
19th december: THE WORKING BOAT’S MINI CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL, falmouth
Where: in our pub downstairs
Eat, drink and be merry at The Working Boat‘s second annual Christmas Festival. The pub will be full of local gift stalls and craft workshops, including a wreath making station. Enjoy free mince pies and head to the bar for boozy hot chocolates, mulled wine and cider. Dance along to Me and the Devil‘s special Christmas performance and listen to jolly carollers. Bring friends or family along, tuck into yuletide-inspired food and celebrate the festive season at our Cornish pub on the quay.
23rd december: ST IVES FARMER’S MARKET, st ives guildhall
Where: 50 minute drive from The Alverton
Two days before the big day, get your last minute Christmas shopping at St Ives Farmer’s Market. This Christmas special will be the perfect place to stock up on food, drink and any last minute stocking fillers. A great atmosphere to get you in the festive mood, there will be musicians, singers and even an appearance from Santa himself!
