Our first Falmouth Gin Festival hailed a huge success
The Greenbank Hotel launched into this year’s Falmouth Week with the very first gin festival the town has seen. The inaugural event, which had a day session from 11am until 4pm and an evening session from 5pm until 10pm, was completely sold out weeks before it was held.
The festival took place in The Riverbank Suite overlooking Falmouth harbour, and despite the miserable weather, guests’ spirits certainly weren’t dampened! Festival-goers were given a keepsake branded glass on arrival and a complimentary G&T, and were treated to a choice of over forty gins and cocktails at the bar.
An array of artisan gin producers from Cornwall and beyond included Curio, Tarquin’s, Rock Gin, Agnes Arber, Empress 1908, Salcombe Gin, Regal Rogue Vermouth, Caspyn, Tyler Street, and Trevethan. Each had a stall with a representative to chat about their company, and plenty of tasters were sampled by attendees.
Musical performances from local singer songwriters included acclaimed artist Tom Baker, Lily Hayes, pianist and blues vocalist Patrick Gilbert, Alfie Pound, and a DJ session in the evening.
The Falmouth Gin Festival was proudly sponsored by Curio Spirits Company, Fentimans Ltd and Enotria&Coe.
Roll on next year! Stay up to date with future events here.
