October Cocktail Recipe: Dark and Stormy
With Halloween haunting The Greenbank this October, our featured cocktail of the month is the aptly named Dark and Stormy. Its origins are mysterious but all we know for sure is that it’s a perfect pick-me-up on a cold autumnal evening.
Our F&B Manager Matt tells us it’s a classic and spicy Bermudan cocktail. “Packing a gingery bite, Dark and Stormy also has a refreshing kick from the fresh lime and oodles of rich, spicy undertones.”
INGREDIENTS
1 part dark rum
1 part gold rum
1 lime
5 parts ginger beer
Dash of Coca Cola
METHOD
A super simple method, for such an indulgent treat! Squeeze half a lime into a Collins glass. Cut the remaining half lime into four and squeeze and leave in the glass. Add the two rums. Pour in your ginger beer. Tip in some crushed ice, so it reaches just below the top of the glass. Add a dash of Coca Cola to storm it up. Finish with two straws and some squeezed lime decoration.
So join us in a toast to the undead, with our full-bodied and fiery cocktail.
