To keep a smile on our followers’ faces and to boost our own morale, we’ve launched a new online series with our Executive Chef Nick Hodges – “Nick’s Community Kitchen”.

Today we bring you – Chocolate tiffin recipe

Nick says: “A family favourite in our house, this is a fantastic uncooked chocolate bar full of sweet cupboard leftovers.”

You will need:

  • 250g milk chocolate
  • 150g butter
  • 3 tbsp castor sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder

And your choice of sweet cupboard leftovers:

  • Any broken biscuits (approx 200g)
  • Cake/sponge bits (up to 100g)
  • Handful of nuts, chopped or whole
  • Handful of seeds
  • Handful of dried fruit

Getting it done:

  • Line a Tupperware container with cling film or lightly butter a mould or tray
  • Melt the butter, sugar, syrup and cocoa
  • Melt the chocolate
  • Stir the raisins, biscuits and sponge bits in the butter mix – fold in fully
  • Add the melted chocolate – fold in again
  • Pour into your mould
  • Refrigerate for two hours
  • Portion into individual sweets or cut into bars
