March featured cocktails in the bar

This month our mover, shaker and cocktail maker Nina has delved into the depths of the Prohibition era, to revive three vintage classics from the 1920s. But first she’s kicking off March with a trusty tropical favourite…

If you like piña coladas…wait until you try The Greenbank’s version. Our tropical dream is a potent blend of light rum, rich Malibu, tangy pineapple and milk. With this sweet cocktail in your hand, all you’ll be missing is the sand between your toes. Our guilty pleasure!

A classic trio of cognac, lemon and orange liqueur are shaken with light rum and cracked ice for a lingering, lust-worthy variation of The Sidecar (with a little rummy extra in the mix.) There is speculation about its origins, but it’s believed to have been born in Paris in the late 1920s.

The signature drink of Burma’s Pegu Club from the 1920s, this gin-based cocktail is best served chilled. The perfect springtime tipple as the days get longer and nights a little lighter, it also features lime juice, aromatic Angostura bitters and triple sec.

Yes, we’re not sure about the name either. But for any Scotch lover, this cocktail is a must. Named for Valentino’s 1922 bullfighter movie Blood and Sand, it combines Bell’s whisky with sweet vermouth, cherry brandy and blood orange juice. Expect a robust combination of smoky and fruity, in a rare cocktail that mixes Scotch into it.

Don’t forget, every Friday from 5pm until close you can enjoy two cocktails for £10, including the featured cocktails above during their allocated weeks.
