How We Gave Back in 2024

On Saturday 27th July, we welcomed around 30 teams to take part in the annual Dragon Boat Race. We donated a portion of food and drink sales throughout the day to local men’s mental health charity, Man Down. In a nail-biting final just off the shores of the hotel, Westover Surgery took the 2024 title.

Support from the local community brought an overwhelming feeling of togetherness to the day. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a total of £1,114.

On Friday 9th August, our annual Pink Wig Pre-party kicked off this year’s Falmouth Week in style. Hundreds of pink wig wearers gathered in our waterfront marquee before their march through Falmouth, led by the iconic Betty Stogs and the Falmouth Marine band.

We donated a portion of food sales and 50% of all cocktail sales from our special Pink Wig cocktail menu, created exclusively for the event. In total, thanks to our attendees’ support, we raised £1,142 for breast cancer charity, Pink Wig.

Every Sunday, our below decks pub, The Working Boat, hosts a pub quiz to raise money for a selection of charities close to our teams’ hearts. Thanks to our pub-goers’ generosity, we are delighted to have raised the following:

Throughout August, The Working Boat and our sister hotels, The Alverton and The Falmouth, hosted fish and chip Fridays in aid of the RNLI. This donation from The Cornwall Hotel Collection will help the RNLI continue their incredible work saving lives at sea.

Throughout the month of November, three of our team members grew moustaches to raise money for men’s health charity, Movember. With collection jars pride of place in the pub, and Movember the chosen charity for the weekly pub quiz, thanks to our customers’ generosity, we raised £240.
