Floral Falmouth in spring

Driving through Cornwall to The Greenbank this spring you’re likely to see vibrant swathes of narcissi alongside the road; and once you’re here, there are so many gardens and attractions to visit with fabulous foliage galore, a real feast for the eyes.

Magnolia campbellii – Trebah Garden

Trebah’s champion Magnolia campbellii (Nepalese giant pink tulip tree) is just one of seven goliath plants in Cornwall, and they’re all competing for first blooming rights – a sign of the new season reaching our county weeks ahead of official English Springtime.

Just a short drive from The Greenbank and with a perfect private beach, Trebah is one of our favourite gardens in Cornwall.

Primroses, violets, daffodil, camellias – Glendurgan Garden

A walk through Glendurgan Garden after a delectable afternoon tea, gazing at spring blooms of primrose, violet and camellia is our version of heaven. Just you, the leaves and the trees is all that’s needed for an afternoon of peace and botanical beauty, at one with nature.

Orchids – Falmouth spring festival

If we hadn’t convinced you already, Falmouth is supremely fond of its flowers, with the Falmouth Spring Festival and Spring Flower Show mere minutes from our hotel.

Simply wake up, roll out of bed, experience a leisurely breakfast by the water and start your day with a stroll to experience spring, south coast style.
