Bracing sea air, galleries and talks to duck into, harbour views that make you slow down, and a calendar that feels curated rather than chaotic. If you’re staying at The Greenbank this February, you’re perfectly placed for culture, gardens, and a few winter-only experiences that feel like a secret.

1st February: Winter on St Michael’s Mount

Where: St Michael’s Mount

Winter is when the Mount feels most magical – gentler, calmer, and wonderfully atmospheric. The island reopens on 1st February, and it’s a brilliant day out for anyone who loves history, sea views, and a bit of drama in the landscape.

Glendurgan reopens for the season mid-February – a lovely excuse for a Helford-side wander as the garden stirs back into life. Expect crisp air, birdsong, and the first green shoots worth celebrating.

A harbourside evening hosted by Head Chef Bobby. A celebration of Cornwall on a plate, with the kind of warm, convivial feel that makes winter dining especially good. Come hungry, linger longer than planned.

26th February: Chris Beardshaw: 100 Plants That Almost Changed The World

Where: Trebah Garden

A dream event for gardeners (and anyone who loves a well-told story). An evening talk with the celebrated horticulturist in one of Cornwall’s most beautiful settings – a genuinely special winter highlight.
