Wild Swimming

Dip your toes into something new and discover the calmer waters around the coast.

I tried this myself last year at Newquay harbour to celebrate New Year’s Day, and I haven’t looked back since! The experience of the cold water hitting your skin improves the body’s stress response, increases your dopamine levels, and is a fantastic way to improve confidence, resilience, and bravery. You’ll feel amazing for the rest of the day and ready to conquer the world. There are plenty of places this summer in Cornwall for this. I’d recommend checking out Gyllyngvase beach in Falmouth, or a pretty spot along the Helford River.

CHAMPAGNE AFTERNOON TEA

If there’s ever been a time to spoil ourselves it’s now…and what better way than with The Greenbank’s brand-new Champagne Afternoon Tea Terrace.

Throughout May, they’ll be serving the enviable ‘Champagne Afternoon Tea Terrace’ by the Water’s Edge bar. At £30 per person, dig into the tastiest treats including yuzu lemon meringue pie, white chocolate ginger cookie sandwich, and the classic Cornish scone, jam and clotted cream. You’ll also be served a selection of savoury bites (drooling as I am about to type this). Expect mustard and parmesan glazed pigs in blankets, coronation chicken tartlet, and Cornish crab brioche, washed down with a glass of champagne and a bottomless pot of tea. Served on the open-air suntrap terrace, you’ll be spoiled with panoramic vistas across the harbour.

Full menu available here. Open from 12pm until 6pm on the following dates: May 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th. Bookings are essential by calling 01326 312440.

The fun doesn’t stop after May 16th either, as The Greenbank re-introduce their classic and delicious afternoon tea again, served daily!

The Working Boat

Sip on an ice-cold Cornish ale or glass of refreshing Tarquin’s Gin whilst enjoying some live music.

Our favourite pub that’s perched on the water, The Working Boat, will be hosting free music evenings from 6th – 15th August to celebrate Falmouth Week. Musicians will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled on their website. Why not make a night of it and your try out their new menu, offering beer battered haddock, the famous Working Boat burger, and their panko grilled halloumi to name a few. See the full menu here.
