Award Success for The Greenbank!
BEST LARGE HOTEL!
We’re very much celebrating here at The Greenbank today, after winning a Silver award for ‘Best Large Hotel’ at the prestigious Cornwall Tourism Awards!
The awards, which recognise excellence and innovation in the tourism sector, received more entries this year than ever before.
We were thrilled and very excited to have been nominated, and so to win this award was just the icing on the cake!
So last night, Thursday 12th November, we pulled on our glad rags and headed down to Newquay for the Awards ceremony.
We like to think of it as Cornwall’s own version of the Oscars, and had a great night out, eating fancy canapés and indulging in a glass of champers or two. We were also treated to guest appearances by Rosamund Barteau, the daughter of Poldark author, Winston Graham, and by Cornish-born comedian Rory McGrath.
Collecting the award in front some of the biggest names in the tourism sector, Ben Young, general manager of The Greenbank, said, “We’re overjoyed to win this award. It is wonderful to see the hard work of our staff and our commitment to continually improving our guests’ experiences recognised by others in the industry.”
We must also say a big congratulations to all the other amazing winners – especially the National Maritime Museum, Picnic, The Wayfarer and Trebah Gardens. We might be a big biased, but we think Falmouth deserves an award all of its own!
A huge thank you to the judges, and to all our fantastic staff and loyal customers – we really couldn’t do it without your support!
