Ben Young, Managing Director of The Cornwall Hotel Collection, said:
“Community is at the very heart of everything we do. Whether it’s our teams going the extra mile, quite literally in some cases, or guests choosing to support a charity quiz or fundraiser during their visit, every contribution makes a real difference. We’re incredibly proud to support charities that mean so much to our teams and our local communities, and we hope to build on this momentum next year, continuing to give back to the places and people that make Cornwall such a special place to live and work.”

From world-class music festivals to maritime celebrations, June 2025 promises an unforgettable summer line-up.At The Greenbank, being part of the community goes far beyond our waterfront setting. Over the past year, The Cornwall Hotel Collection has come together to raise an incredible £11,000 for local and national charities, supporting causes close to the hearts of our teams, guests and neighbours.
Across the Collection, including our sister hotels The Alverton and The Falmouth, fundraising has taken many forms, from energetic events to quieter, weekly initiatives that invite everyone to get involved.
Much of the year’s activity centred around our below decks pub The Working Boat, long recognised as a true community hub. Highlights included the lively Dragon Boat Race, which raised £955 for Mylor Sailability through food and drink proceeds, and the much-loved Pink Wig Pre-Party, where a sea of pink helped raise £1,324 for The Mermaid Centre, supporting those affected by breast cancer.
Weekly charity quizzes at The Working Boat also continued to play a vital role. With optional donations collected every Sunday evening, these quizzes raised a combined £4,475, supporting charities including Cornwall Blood Bikes, Surfers Against Sewage and Age UK, alongside other causes nominated by the team themselves.
Fundraising efforts extended well beyond Falmouth too. Teams from across The Cornwall Hotel Collection came together for the 17-mile ‘Coastal Convoy’, raising £4,000 for Bliss, a charity particularly close to the hearts of The Greenbank family, which supports babies born premature or sick and their families.
The Collection was also proud to support a very special festive wish this Christmas. The Falmouth welcomed nine-year-old Ella from the Isles of Scilly and her mum, Zenna, offering them a complimentary overnight stay after Ella’s wish to see Aladdin at Hall for Cornwall was made possible. The seaside break allowed them to extend their magical theatre experience and enjoy precious time together, a moment that perfectly reflects the group’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences and giving back.
From quiz-goers and rowers to guests who simply chose a charity cocktail during their stay, every small act of generosity has helped make a lasting impact. The Cornwall Hotel Collection would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part — together, these moments have added up to something truly meaningful.
