£10,000 raised for Cornwall Air Ambulance’s New Heli Appeal
The Greenbank Hotel team has been hosting a series of fundraising events in Cornwall this year, to help support the Cornwall Air Ambulance with their New Heli Appeal. Not only have we had a lot of fun along the way in educating those about this worthy charity, but we have raised over £10,000 too! Have a look at the past year below and see what we’ve done to raise as much money as possible:
The Coastal Convoy
Sister hotels The Greenbank and The Alverton came together on Sunday 12th May to walk the arduous 16 miles from Truro to Falmouth, rambling along the coast path in convoy. Sponsored by Fal River Cornwall and Trelissick Gardens, the event saw local companies coming together in raising £3000 for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
National Cream Tea Day at the Water’s Edge
On Friday 28th June, guests savoured a pot of Cornish tea and a homemade scone for just £3 per person. Every penny went towards the New Heli Appeal and was enjoyed by many!
Chefs on the Quay
On Wednesday 14th August, our events marquee overlooking the harbour for Falmouth Week was transformed into a foodie’s haven. Our first ever Chefs on the Quay event had everyone in attendance celebrating the very best of Cornish produce. The talented team of six Cornish chefs came together to show off their culinary skills, producing a delicious six-course feast. The Greenbank Team collected some incredible prizes for the charity auction held at the end of the evening. As a result, we were able to raise £2115 from the auction alone. And the total amount raised for Cornwall Air Ambulance and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit exceeded £3000!
Everything in between
The Greenbank gang also created a mouth-watering menu of Heli Gin cocktails served in the bar, as well as donation envelopes in every bedroom. It’s been so rewarding to see the generosity of our guests. We can’t thank you all enough for your kindness and support.
And we’re not stopping there…
With skydives, 10k runs and charity quizzes at The Working Boat still to look forward to, we are hoping to raise even more by the end of 2019. There are still so many ways we can keep fundraising in Cornwall. A huge thank you to all those that have donated so far – let’s keep going!
